Car seats and booster seats provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. It's important to choose the right seat and use it correctly every time your child is in the car. If you need assistance with choosing and/or installing your car seat, please fill out our Car Seat Check Request Form or contact our Community Risk Reduction Division by calling 208-489-0451. The Meridian Fire Department can assist with car seat checks and installations on a scheduled basis only. We respectfully ask that you allow up to 4 weeks for a scheduled appointment.
